How Often Do Hazardous Objects in the Road Cause Accidents?

Last fall, we blogged about how hazardous objects in the road cause approximately 25,000 vehicle accidents each year. Unfortunately, some of these accidents involve broken, loose or defective auto parts that may fall into the roadway. Additionally, they can involve items left in the roadway from cleanup or construction crews including safety cones, barricades or equipment. In many accidents, drivers are unable to avoid objects and are forced to react quickly to oncoming debris.
