Was This Fatal Car Accident Caused by a Bug?

An 18-year-old student at Stockton University was killed recently in a car accident after his friend, another teen Stockton student, swerved into the path of a tractor trailer. Both the teen driver and the driver of the truck were admitted to the nearby hospital with mild injuries. The fatal car accident was the result of distracted driving. According to police, the teenagers had been trying to swat a bug in the car at the time of the accident. “This accident highlights how even the slightest driving distraction can have tragic consequences,” said a spokesperson for the Prosecutor’s Office. Facts About Distracted Driving In 2013, nearly 500,000 people were injured in car accidents citing distracted driving as the cause.
