$875,000 Settlement Against a Bar and Drunk Driver Resulting in Severe Spinal Injury

Targan & Pender obtained an $875,000.00 Atlantic County settlement against a bar and drunk driver. This was a “Dram Shop” case brought against an Atlantic County bar for serving a patron while he was visibly intoxicated. When the patron showed up at the bar, his blood alcohol level was already twice the legal limit. He should have never been served alcohol in that condition. Immediately, our firm began investigative efforts including sending a Notice to Preserve all Video to the bar in question. The review of that video proved that the drunk driver was served at the bar while he exhibited signs of visible intoxication, including swaying, blood shot eyes, and a disheveled appearance. Is Route 130 a Hotspot for New Jersey Pedestrian Accidents?

NJ.com has published an article that discusses why Route 130 is the most dangerous road in New Jersey for pedestrians. The Tri-State Transportation Campaign, a nonprofit organization that analyzes transportation trends, has consistently ranked Route 130 as the deadliest road for pedestrians in the state. Route 130, which runs from Pennsville Township to Brunswick Township, is notorious for lacking the infrastructure pedestrians need to avoid being hit by vehicles. According to NJ.com, a majority of pedestrian accidents along Route 130 occur in Burlington County. Along Route 130 Burlington County, you can find schools, businesses and bus stops, all of which cause heavy foot traffic. What Are the Deadliest Roads in New Jersey?

NJ.com recently published an article on the deadliest roads in our state. These highways and roads are responsible for countless deaths and catastrophic injuries each year. You or loved ones may have even had close calls while driving on these roads. The New Jersey Department of Transportation (NJDOT) and New Jersey State Police statistics used by NJ.com for the article cover crashes that occurred during 2016 and 2015. Deadly New Jersey roads mentioned in the article included: The Garden State Parkway: NJ.com mentions that 32 people died in motor vehicle accidents on the Garden State Parkway during 2016.
